OJSC "Kyrgyztelecom" took part in the international forum CAPIF 2

  OJSC "Kyrgyztelecom"  took part in the international forum CAPIF 2, "The Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum", which was held on September 19-20 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum (CAPIF) is a regional platform to promote and facilitate the exchange of Internet traffic between Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Central Asia, which gathered more than 200 participants.
   CAPIF brings together ISPs, network operators and other stakeholders from Central Asia to discuss and collaborate on peering and Internet infrastructure development in the region. Myrzabek Shadybekov, Technical Director of Kyrgyztelecom, was one of the key speakers at the panel discussion on September 19, dedicated to regional and international connectivity, exchange of best practices and experience.
   On the second day, the forum participants discussed peculiarities of legislative and regulatory issues, opportunities for regional and international connectivity, resources for IXP, CDN hosting, as well as network security. During the discussions, Raushan Belekova, Head of Commercial Department of Kyrgyztelecom OJSC, emphasized the importance of effective interaction between ISPs and the use of local Internet communities, which provide ISPs with a cost-effective and efficient way to exchange traffic and reduce their dependence on international transit, as the purpose of the forum is to expand interconnection and improve the quality of Internet services in the region.
