Remote districts of Naryn will get access to the Internet

On December 1, 2023, a presentation on the achievements of the first component of the project "Digital CASA"- Kyrgyz Republic" was held, in which the leader of the consortium OJSC "Kyrgyztelecom" is the main contractor. The event was held in the school named after T. Sagymbaeva in the village of Arsi, Kochkor district.

Within the framework of the project implementation, Kyrgyztelecom OJSC is actively working to provide fiber-optic Internet connection to the regions of the country. The main emphasis is placed on providing Internet access to public facilities, such as schools, hospitals, libraries, aiyl okmotu, etc.

In Kochkor district of Naryn oblast, the Digital CASA project is being successfully completed, during which Kyrgyztelecom laid 168 km 780 m of fiber-optic cable, providing Internet connection to 39 public facilities, including 14 schools. As the Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Zamirbek Kodjomuratov noted: "The World Bank's Digital CASA-KR project, which is one of the key infrastructure projects for Kyrgyzstan, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, has a significant impact on providing high-speed Internet access in remote areas of the country, opening new opportunities for educational, medical and public institutions".

Director of Naryn oblast branch of Kyrgyztelecom OJSC, Rakhat Tolgoev noted that in addition to social facilities, in the near future it is planned to connect the population of the village of Arsy in Kochkor district to high-speed Internet.

"The cables have already been connected, we are receiving a large number of applications for connection from the residents of the district. By the end of the year, all of them will be connected," he said.

The completion of the Digital CASA-KR project in Kochkor district of Naryn province is an important step in the digital transformation of Kyrgyzstan and contributes to improving the quality of education and life of the local population.
